Mousse de Chêne - This is another word that is used to describe Oakmoss. Oakmoss is a common base note in womens perfumes. See Oakmoss for a more in depth description of this note.
Muguet - This is a French word that is used to describe Lily of the Valley. The Italian term for this same purpose is Mughetto.
Myrrh - This is a gum resin that is produced by a bush that is found in Eastern Africa and Arabia and is popular in womens perfumery as well as in incense making.
Nag Champa - This is the name for a type of perfume oil that was originally created in Buddhist and Hindu monasteries in Nepal and India, and it was used primarily for perfuming incense. Traditionally, Nag Champa is made out of a sandalwood base, and then a wide variety of flower oils are added to the incense, including the oils from the flower that comes from the Champaca tree, which is where the name is derived from.
Neroli - This is an oil that is prepared using the blossoms from sweet orange trees and bitter orange trees and commonly used in womens perfumes. The Italian term that is used to describe Neroli is Zagara.
Nose - Known as Nez in French, a nose is a person that is responsible for mixing components of womens fragrances together in order to make perfumes. Another commonly used word for this purpose is perfumer, which is parfumeur createur in French.
Oakmoss - Oakmoss is derived from evernia prunastri, a lichen that tends to grow on oak trees. Oakmoss is a base note that is commonly used in womens perfumes.
Olibanum - This is another word for frankincense, a perfume note that is commonly found in womens perfumes.
Opoponax - This is also referred to as either bisabol myrrh or sweet myrrh, and it has a fragrance when used as an incense that is sweet and lavender like or balsam like in nature. King Solomon is purported to have regarded this fragrance note as one of the noblest in its incense gum form.
Orris - This is a fragrance characteristic that is derived from what is known as the rhizome from an iris plant.
Osmanthus - This is a flowering tree that is native to China, and has been valued for a long time for the delicate, fruity and apricot aroma that it offers. In then southern half of the United States, it is known by name as the Tea Olive.
Oud - Sometimes Oud is spelled as Oudh. This is an Arabic word that is used to describe wood. In the world of perfumery, the word Oud is used in order to refer to any type of wood that is derived from the Agar tree.
