Pamplermousse - This is a French word that is used in order to describe grapefruit perfume notes.

Patchouli - This is a type of bushy shrub that was originally from India and Malaysia. The leaves were supposedly folded into cashmere shawls that were shipped out of England and India during the Victorian era so that the fabric could be protected from moths. The scent eventually was used as a badge signifying authenticity, and customers began to refuse to buy any shawls that were not scented using Patchouli. Patchouli features an aroma that is musty, sweet and spicy and it is commonly found in a wide variety of womens perfumes.

Perfumer - This is another word for nose.

Petitgrain - This is oil that has been distilled from the leaves and the twigs of a citrus tree, and the tree that is used the most commonly for this particular purpose is the bitter orange tree.

Pikaki - This is a type of Jasmine, known as Jasmine Sambac or Jasminum Sambac that is grown in Hawaii, and that is primarily used for the purpose of making leis. The Pikaki Jasmine is also regarded as the Arabian Jasmine, and as such, it is the Jasmine plant that is most commonly used for making tea.

Pivoine - This is the French word that is used to describe peony based perfume notes.

Plumeria - This is a tropical flower that is also regarded as West Indian Jasmine, though it is not actually a member of the Jasmine family at all. It is also known as Frangipani. The Frangipani flower is a flower that is commonly used for making leis.

Poivre - This is a French word that is used to describe pepper based perfume notes.

Rockrose - Also known as Labdanum, this is an aromatic gum that comes from the rockrose bush and features a woody and sweet odor that is said to be capable of mimicking ambergris. This particular perfume ingredient is also said to be able to impart a leathery note.

Rose de Mai - This is a rose absolute that is made out of the Centifolia rose and is often used for floral perfume notes.

Sandalwood - This is an oil that is extracted from the Sandal tree's heartwood. It was originally only found in India. This is one of the oldest and most popular perfume notes and perfumery ingredients. The wood in a powdered form is also used for the purpose of creating incense.
