The Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior is the fifth fragrance in the Poison line by Christian Dior, which originally began with the now-iconic original Poison fragrance which was released in 1985. The Poison line of perfume by Christian Dior continued with Tendre Poison, which was released in the year 1994, then Hypnotic Poison, which was released in 1998. Fourth in line was Pure Poison, another perfume by Christian Dior that was released in the year 2004. Now Midnight Poison has been released, featuring unique notes including mandarin orange, black rose, bergamot, patchouli, French vanilla and Amber.
The Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior is a fragrance that is fronted by the actress Eva Green, who is best known for starring in Casino Royale. Green has said that she has a dislike for perfumes that remind her of old ladies, and therefore she often ends up going out without any fragrance at all, but that the Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior is something that she is smitten with, because it is a fresh scent, especially in comparison to the other Poison perfume varieties by Christian Dior. It is younger and fresher than the other Poison perfumes in the set.
Availability: Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior is available in Eau de Parfum in 30, 50 and 100 ml sizes.
Notable Notes: Mandarin orange, black rose, bergamot, patchouli, French vanilla and Amber.
Younger and fresher certainly aren't positive attributes to everyone, but the Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior is certainly not as young and fresh as Pure Poison, which is to many people the dullest out of all of the poison perfumes. The Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior gets things started with a veritable roar worth of clean patchouli. This clean patchouli scent is being found in everything lately. The original burst of patchouli will not go away, but it will gradually quiet in order to reveal a sheer blend of floral notes that is dominated by the black rose and citrus, which is juicy and just mildly sweet.
The base is going to be whatever is left of the patchouli with some amber and a touch of musky wood. It is sweetened just subtly by the vanilla, and then as the florals fade away, there is just a slight tinge of something fruity and sweet, but it is going to remain more dry than not. In fact, the Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior is surprisingly dry when you consider that it was apparently meant to be geared toward a younger market.
According to Sephora, the Midnight Poison perfume by Christian Dior is intense, but I haven't really agreed. It may be a little intense at first, but when the top notes begin to fade, you are left with something that is appropriately dark for its name, though not at all heavy or rich. Surprisingly, it never manages to get quite as sultry as one might expect for Christian Dior and her Poison line of perfumes.
