Marc Jacobs Perfume Review
December 21st, 2009 | Marc Jacobs, Perfume, Perfume Review
Marc Jacobs has done an interesting job of interpreting the Gardenia, offering his own take on this sweet and intriguing flower. The Marc Jacobs perfume maintains the same fundamental aspects that you will find in all of his designs. It is classic and luxurious, and feminine in a truly comforting way. The scent offered by this Marc Jacobs perfume is uncomplicated while maintaining sensuality and it complements the wearer in a way that is not overwhelming in any way.
Notable Notes: The most notable notes found in this Marc Jacobs perfume include Wild Muguet, Cedar, Skin Musk, Ginger and plenty of Gardenia.
Style: This is a blend that is both lush and watery at the same time.
Best Use: This is a young, sensuous and fresh fragrance that is perfectly unforgettable while remaining simple and understated. This Marc Jacobs perfume is best for sensuous nights and uncomplicated days, can be worn day and night and is perfect for public consumption.
If you are looking for a sweet Gardenia based fragrance that is watery and yet lush, pure and simple and yet understated, then this Gardenia based Marc Jacobs perfume is the fragrance for you. Marc Jacobs has done something with Gardenias that has never been done before. This Gardenia interpretation is as cutting edge as it gets, with accents of Egyptian Jasmine and White Pepper work with the Gardenia top note and Bergamot and Tagete. If you are a confident and unconventional woman, then this Marc Jacobs perfume is the fragrance for you.
Most gardenia perfumes and fragrances in the past were completely different. Gardenia fragrances are usually overbearing and difficult to wear at length. They stick to you and their scent is just too strong for casual use. This is nothing like that. The Marc Jacobs perfume complements the wearer in a way that is not at all overwhelming, making it an excellent fragrance for nearly any kind of occasion.
Many people regard this Marc Jacobs perfume to be one of the most feminine of all fragrances. It is not at all your typical heavy and musty gardenia, but rather it is a wet gardenia, meaning that it seems as if you are smelling a bunch of gorgeous, wet gardenias floating in a bowl of fresh, lightly scented water. The gardenia isn't going to knock you out, but instead its faint but absolutely lovely in every possible way. If you are looking for a floral that you can wear all the time, then this Marc Jacobs perfume is well worth picking up. You are absolutely going to have to try it on yourself because it truly is alluring in an intoxicating kind of way.
Price: 1.7 oz goes for $65 / 3.4 oz goes for $85. This one is a little expensive, but well worth it for what you're getting.
