When I was in high school, there was a popular Coty fragrance that might have just been referred to as Coty at the time. It had a distinct baby powder scent and was discontinued long ago. It was pleasant enough, but it was wildly popular at my school and so the hallways were practically fogged up with it. It was intense enough that a little went a long way, but a popular perfume trend at the time was to keep a bottle in your locker to freshen up between classes.

This wasn't done with just Coty fragrance, but it was the one that seemed to rise above all the others. Now, Coty has a huge number of fragrances they produce, both perfumes for women and cologne for men, as well as products like scented lotions and deodorants.

Another reason Coty fragrance was so popular among teens was that it was inexpensive, and downright cheap compared to the popular designer fragrances at the time. The same holds true today. You can get a bottle of Wild Musk by Coty for $12 - $14, where that amount of designer perfume will generally cost close to $50.

If you've ever purchased perfumes or colognes in that price range, you've probably worn a Coty fragrance. They control so many different brands today that you've probably worn more than one without ever knowing that Coty was responsible. Stetson, Lady Stetson, Aspen, Healing Garden, Exclamation and a variety of musks for men and women are just a few of the many different scents and brands put out by Coty fragrance today.

I'm a fan of some high-end fragrances like Juicy Couture and their newer Viva La Juicy, but I keep a bottle or two of less expensive perfumes around for more everyday wear. One of those is Wild Musk by Coty. It's one of the rare perfumes that I've often been complimented on, both at work at elsewhere. But I do find myself, like the girls in high schools with clouds around their lockers, going a little wild with it at times.

Juicy Couture is longer lasting and takes less, where Wild Musk seems to fade so much more quickly that it's easy to over apply. But one of the nice things about most Coty fragrance is that even if you do overdo it, it's not overpowering. The scent of Wild Musk is very mellow, and not one that many people would find offensive, even if over-applied.

The other inexpensive perfume I keep on hand at all times which is actually my favorite among the cheaper brands is Sand & Sable. This happens to be another Coty fragrance. It's more expensive than Wild Musk, but has more complex tones and more staying power, with sandalwood, gardenia and peach among other tones. These are great everyday pleasers, perfect for evening or the office, that let you save your expensive bottles for special occasions or days when you want that something extra a designer scent gives you.
