These days you can buy perfume online just as you can buy almost anything over the Internet. If you want to buy perfume online, however, it is a bit more of a challenge than purchasing certain other goods like books or small appliances. Unless you go to a store or get a chance to sample a friend's perfume stash, you won't be sure you actually like the scent until it arrives at your door. And if you dislike it and want to send it back, chances are you'll get store credit, and just be out the return postage.

The best way to buy perfume online without that gamble is to sample the scent before you buy. Actually, the best way is to browse online to find fragrances that contain the elements you already enjoy and then go to a store for a sniff test. Wear a dab of the scent to see if you'll still enjoy it once the top notes wear off to reveal the true scent. Then buy perfume online to save a little money, because most online stores offer a discount, sometimes a deep one, over the local department store.

If you already have a scent that you love, shopping online is a great way to get it with a little discount. But browsing online is also a great way to discover new scents without having to stand in a fog of perfume and deal with an overeager salesperson-on-commission when you're not really sure what you're looking for.

If you're a fan of a certain type of perfume like florals or exotics, and you find the right online store, you'll get recommendations for other scents with similar tones. It's an unbiased way to browse and decide which scents to sample. Then you can buy perfume online with confidence that you'll enjoy your choices.
