Guerlain cologne has been around for decades and still holds its own against the many new fragrances that are introduced each year. Despite all the new colognes for men, many aimed at teenagers and young men who are just starting to wear a scent, Vetiver Guerlain Cologne remains a top men's fragrance.

It's one of the rare men's colognes that I can dab on my wrist and enjoy for myself, even without a man around. If you're really into the person who wears it often, then a tiny touch on yourself can be a nice reminder of him. And this Guerlain cologne scent is light enough that you might enjoy it for yourself, when used sparingly. While I don't think it's exactly a unisex scent, it will do as a women's scent in a pinch, depending on your taste. If you really like the smell of it on your guy, it's worth a try for yourself.

The base of the fragrance comes from vetiver, a grass found in volcanic areas of Haiti and India. It's a common ingredient in many men's fragrances and after shaves, and has a fresh green scent that has woodsy hints that keep it from being too green. It gives a nice balance when combined with the very woody layers of tobacco, wood and spice that make up Vetiver Guerlain cologne.

The layers and the woodiness combined to make a scent that probably compliments more mature men than it would boys, but that's not to say that some younger men can't enjoy this cologne, as well. Guerlain has been making Vetiver for 50 years, so you know it's a tried and true scent with a wide appeal.

Another popular men's Guerlain cologne is Guerlain Homme. This one isn't going to appeal to the ladies quite as much on their own wrists, but it's definitely a scent with some manly sex appeal. In contrast to Vetiver Guerlain Cologne, this one has fruity, citrus undertones and will tempt you to get close and sniff any guy nearby who wears it. Lime, mint, bergamot and cedar are just some of the scents in this complex cologne that's only been on the market for a little over a year.

A Guerlain cologne that's been around for 5 years and is probably the most sexual and intense scent I'm reviewing today is L'Instant de Guerlain. This one is intended for seduction and sex appeal, with a fruity, citrus fragrance with undertones of patchouli, jasmine, sandalwood, cocoa bean, lemon, pepper, bergamot and more in a very complex cologne that definitely gets men noticed when they wear it.

L'Instant de Guerlain cologne has a much longer wear than Vetiver or Guerlain Homme, with the scent lasting up to 16 hours as opposed to the 10 hour wear-time of the other colognes. It's definitely more for nighttime wear than a professional's daytime scent. This dynamic Guerlain cologne is the perfect scent for a romantic evening that could go well on into the morning hours.
