Guy Laroche introduced one of the most popular men’s fragrances ever when the house introduced Drakkar Noir in 1982. Drakkar Noir is still manufactured today; its lemon, lavender and tangerine top notes, coriander and juniper mid notes, and patchouli and oak moss base notes have stood the test of time. Today, the scent’s appealing simplicity and directness is considered a classic. Having been on the market for almost three decades, its popularity has faded enough where you don’t have to worry about showing up in a club only to find it is full of guys wearing Drakkar Noir. In 1998, Guy Laroche launched Drakkar Dynamik, but it was not as well received as the original.
