Choosing a Masculine Perfume
February 13th, 2010 | Men's Fragrance, cologne
Choosing the right masculine perfume is sometimes tricky because there are so many scents and fragrances to choose from. When choosing a masculine perfume, the biggest consideration to make is that men tend to shy away from floral and fruity fragrances and want to find woodsy fragrances or full bodied natural fragrances instead. If you are a man who is looking for the perfect masculine perfume for yourself, or a woman looking to find the right masculine perfume for your husband or boyfriend, consider the following things:
- While woodsy scents like cedar wood, tobacco, cinnamon and aniseed are all excellent notes in a masculine perfume, you want to make sure that they are not becoming overwhelming. When these fragrances are used as top notes, they can often become too overwhelming, even for a gentleman.
- While it seems odd to go for a floral scent when choosing a masculine perfume, the best masculine perfume options tend to have at least some fruity or floral notes in them to tone down the woodsy nature of the other essential notes. Choose soft flowers like white rose, lily of the valley and hyacinth or sweet fruits such as apple, plum or peach when selecting the right masculine perfume.
Here is a look at some of the most popular masculine perfume options that are available to you on the market today, and the type of notes that they exemplify. As you can see, there are a myriad of different options available for you to consider.
